Accelerating early-career success.
Prologue helps young adults to develop their self-knowledge, clarity and direction, to build commercial and technical skills and to gain the professional confidence to thrive in the workplace.
Our flexible, modular approach combines individual mentoring, practical group courses and real-world commercial experiences.
Not every young adult leaves education ready for the world of work. . .
Many highly capable young adults leave school without a clear sense of direction and lacking the commercial and technical skills and the professional confidence that today's employers value*.
University is the right path for some - but for others it can feel like an expensive next step taken without clarity.
Prologue was designed specifically for young adults facing this dilemma.
Self-Knowledge, Clarity & Direction
Many young adults leave school or university unsure of their strengths, interests or the career opportunities available to them.
Commercial & Technical Skills
Young adults often enter the workforce lacking many of the commercial & technical skills that employers value.*
Professional Confidence
Communication, teamwork and professional habits are rarely developed before entering the workplace.

Why Prologue?
Prologue occupies a unique space between formal education and employment - a space that often feels daunting and uncertain for many young adults - and for their parents.
Prologue exists to remove this uncertainty.
Through our early-career mentoring, we work with young adults to help them make informed early-career decisions and to provide them with guidance and support whilst they bring those decisions to life.
Our growing portfolio of practical group courses and commercial experiences enables young adults to build the skills and gain the confidence needed to thrive in the workplace.
These combine to produce a truly bespoke solution for each young adult - a solution built around their specific circumstances and focused on their unique requirements.
Who is Prologue for?
Prologue is designed specifically for capable, ambitious young adults who are at a crossroads. In particular, Prologue is ideal for:
-
Students leaving sixth form without a clear understanding of what they want to study at university or a clear idea of their route into work.
-
Those returning from a gap year having experienced life outside formal education and wanting a structured, supported pathway to launch their career.
-
Current university students who have concluded that 8 hours a week in the lecture theatre is not preparing them as well for their future as they had hoped.
-
Recent graduates who feel unprepared for the world of work.
Prologue is also for the parents of young adults who are looking for guidance and support in managing their child through what can be a difficult and often fraught stage of life.
The Prologue Mentoring Journey
To get from where they are now to where they want to be, a young adult needs to know two things:
Where am I now?
This is the starting point of any journey and comprises an essential set of questions for any young adult embarking on their career: What motivates and energises me? What am I good at? Who am I in a commercial context? How do I show up? How do I add value? What makes me me?
Where do I want to be?
The question every map app asks before you set off – What is your destination? From an early-career perspective, the destination needn’t be pinpoint – it seldom is. But it does need to be specific enough to inform and shape the journey and to give that journey a clear purpose and direction.
Through our bespoke mentoring programme, Prologue enables young adults to answer these questions and provides them with the strategies, coaching and ongoing support as they embark on, and undertake that journey.
Along the way, our practical group courses and real-world commercial experiences provide them with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to stand out and achieve their early-career goals.
Is University the right choice, right now?
Schools in the UK do a fantastic job of preparing their pupils for university and for many, university is the right next move.
For others, it becomes a default choice often made becasue it feels like the only option on offer.
But is it the right choice, right now?
Take our 8-minute Parent Diagnostic to help you think university through properly. It covers your child's direction and clarity, their readiness for independence, how informed the decision actually is, and whether the return justifies the investment.

About our Founder
Simon Selkirk has spent the last six years of his career in education, teaching Economics and Business at A-Level and as a key member of the Sixth Form Leadership Team at Stamford School, one of the UK's leading independent schools.
He spent the first 20 years of his career in the recruitment industry - the last 15 years as founder and Managing Director of his own consultancy.
This combination - knowing what employers need and understanding the dilemmas students face when leaving school - is rare.
Simon is also a parent of university-age children and has lived first-hand the frustrations that young adults experience when faced with their post-school options.
Prologue is his answer to this.
