Extending what sixth form can offer.
FOR SCHOOLS
———
Prologue works alongside schools to extend that provision. We offer mentoring, practical programmes and applied supercurricular experiences that develop students' direction, capability and confidence, and give them credible evidence of what they can do.
We are not a replacement for school careers provision. We are an additional resource, built by someone who has worked inside a sixth form and understands what schools are already asking of their students and staff.

Schools do a great deal to prepare students for life after sixth form: academic teaching, careers guidance, UCAS support, enrichment and pastoral care. But time and capacity are finite, and some students need more individual attention, more applied experience or more challenge than a school timetable can offer.
WORKING ALONGSIDE YOUR PROVISION
———
Designed to complement, not compete
Schools know their students well. Tutors, heads of year and careers leads see them week in, week out, and understand their academic profile, their progress and their wider circumstances.
Prologue is not there to replicate careers provision, enrichment or pastoral support that is already in place. The starting point is understanding what the school already offers and where Prologue can add the most value.
That might mean bringing a Laboratory or Academy into the school, giving students access to a programme delivered outside it, providing individual support to particular students or extending existing work experience through Prologue Work Placements.
The model varies with the school, the students and the objective. The principle stays constant: Prologue should add something useful that would otherwise be difficult for the school to provide.
THE WORLD BEYOND SCHOOL
———
Where education meets the world of work
Prologue was founded by Simon Selkirk, who has spent over 20 years in recruitment and several years teaching and leading in a sixth form. That combination shapes everything we do.
From recruitment comes a clear understanding of what employers and apprenticeship providers look for, and how young people can demonstrate it. From the classroom comes an understanding of sixth-form life: the academic demands, the pressures on students' time and the work schools already do to prepare them for. their next chapter
Our applied supercurricular programmes draw on both. Students go beyond the syllabus to take on real challenges, work to professional standards and present their work to practitioners from industry. The experience complements their academic study rather than competing with it, and gives them something concrete to draw on in applications, interviews and the choices ahead.
The aim is not to make sixth form more vocational. It is to give students another way to discover what they are capable of, and the evidence to show it.
SAFEGUARDING
———
Student welfare comes first.
Prologue works directly with sixth-form students, so their safety and wellbeing are fundamental to everything we do.
We are committed to providing a safe, professional and supportive environment across our programmes, mentoring and work placements, with clear safeguarding arrangements underpinning our work with students, parents, schools and employers.
