Student welfare comes first.

SAFEGUARDING
———

Prologue works directly with sixth-form students through programmes, mentoring, work placements, events and online activity. Their safety and wellbeing is fundamental to everything we do.

We are committed to a safe, respectful, inclusive and professionally managed environment. Safeguarding shapes how our people are selected, how our programmes are designed and how we manage our relationships with students, parents, schools and partners.

OUR APPROACH
———

Safeguarding by design.

Safeguarding is not an afterthought at Prologue - it shapes every aspect of how we work with studnets, who works with them, how they communicate, how activities are run and how concerns are identified and acted upon.

Before any activity involving under-18s begins, we require independent safeguarding oversight, vetting and induction of relevant adults, risk assessment, emergency and attendance arrangements, approved communication channels and clear reporting routes for students and parents.

Independent oversight
Our arrangements include an Independent Designated Safeguarding Lead and an independent contingency route, so concerns can be raised and acted upon independently of Prologue's founder where necessary.

Safer recruitment
Adults working with students receive role-appropriate vetting and suitability checks, safeguarding induction and training, and clear expectations on professional conduct and boundaries.

Professional boundaries

Adults communicate with students only through approved channels, including managed prlg.academy accounts. One-to-one contact is carefully managed, and mentoring, speaker and employer arrangements are clearly defined.

Work placements and external activity
Employer visits, placements and off-site activities are planned and risk assessed, covering supervision, travel, emergency arrangements, host expectations, student check-ins and parental consent where required.

RAISING A CONCERN
———

If something does not feel right, tell us.

Students, parents, schools, mentors, partners and anyone else can raise a concern about a student's safety or welfare, or about the conduct of any adult associated with Prologue.

Concerns go directly to our Independent Designated Safeguarding Lead:

safeguarding@prlg.co.uk

Any concern involving Prologue's founder is handled entirely through the independent route and is not investigated or managed by the Founder/Director.. Anyone may also contact the relevant statutory safeguarding agency directly.

If a child or adult is in immediate danger, call 999. Our safeguarding mailbox is not an emergency service.
